The Benefits of Expert Advice
When it comes to your finances, a little knowledge really can be a dangerous thing. The blurb on a marketing leaflet can
sound persuasive, but are you sure you're getting the whole picture? We are specialist investment advisers - it is our job to know the whole story.
As Investment specialists we have constructed a series of asset allocation models, populated with investment funds, which cover a wide range of risk profiles to satisfy our clients' requirements. These have been in place for a number of years now and over that period they have successfully outperformed their benchmark indices.
As an example, a risk portfolio rated as cautious, has produced the following returns over recent years:
- To put the return achieved over the past 12 months in perspective, this was achieved during a period which saw the FTSE100 Index fall by some 3.7%
- Fluctuations in performance should always be expected, irrespective of the risk rating agreed, and this portfolio has achieved an average annualised return of 7.3% over the past 5 years.
- The predictions of a market collapse as a result of the Brexit vote have proven to be wide of the mark, however, we would still expect to see a degree of volatility during the year ahead as other factors come in to play.
It must be stressed that past returns should not be viewed as a guarantee of future performance.
Growth vs Income
Perhaps you want capital growth, an increase in your current income, or even a blend of both? At Aveton Gifford Associates, our speciality is tailoring your investment strategy to meet your investment goals. Even if you don't know which investment strategy is right for you, please ask us. When it comes to making financial decisions there is no such thing as a silly question.
What may be right for you is not necessarily suitable for someone else. That's why we insist on a face-to-face discussion prior to offering any written advice. It's simply the best way for us to get to grips with your individual financial situation.
And our clients certainly prefer it to dealing with a faceless operator in some far-off office.
